Diane von Furstenburg's message for her presentation was optimism and new beginnings. The show opened with a few all white looks and swiftly changed into prints and colours. The collection ranges from beautiful exuberant floral prints to simple dresses and jackets with shorts.
Victoria Beckham went for a more sporty collection this time, but also kept her fine hourglass dresses in the picture. The streamlined collection has some beautiful details which differ from beautiful embroideries, to satin and nylon straps. VB also introdues a few new bags, which ranged from big and beautiful totes to shoulder bags and clutches.
Jason Wu found the perfect balance in colour for this spring. Wu has mingled the grey and black into the gorgeous spring colours beautifully. The chic designer has pushed his boundaries with thigh-high shorts, a new flower-petal print and new fabrics and its fantastic embellishments. And oh gosh, how I love this peplum-like top!
Michael Kors brought on the jungle, with his show Afriluxe. The designer used a warm colour palette which differed from warm marigold to mustard plus the animal prints. Michael Kors again used fantastic fabrics (cashmere, suede) and introduced new versions of his signature one-shoulder dresses and wrap skirts. Key accessories in the show were knee-high gladiator sandals and cross-over bags.
It looked like Tibi was trying to get rid of their floral image, introducing wide boyfriend looks. Of course also dresses and wide pants for both daytime and the after hours joined the party. Suits made of tailored bermuda's and wide silk shirts were the big stand-outs in the show.
Marchesa's collection had a vintage vibe to it. All pieces in the show had a vintage style with materials like tulle, beaded fringes and chiffon. All models walked on wedges for a more down to earth message.
Vera Wang's show started off in in white and had a fairytale-like feeling to it. Leggings, parachute silk, diamond-shaped cut-outs and trippy prints showed a new side of Wang. But still, we saw some of Vera Wang's signature chiffon dresses. The colour palette ranged from bright blues and yellows to soft baby colours. We also saw black and white.
Marc Jacobs introduced sporty sweaters, denim, and drop-waist dresses in his Spring collection. Boxy shapes brought us back to the 1920s. Materials like fringes, sequins, pailettes and pieces of plastic were sewn onto the clothes. Although the handkerchiefs brought us back to the 1920s, the see-through cowboy boots had a futuristic edge.
