1st Nigerians to hoist flag on the highest mountain in Eastern Europe of Ukraine .

 

History was made on the Saturday,25th sept 2011 when two Nigerians Chinedu Agunanne and Iroko Emamuzo who are final year Pharmacy students of Ternopil State Medical University in Ternopil City of Ukraine, climbed to the highest peak of Hoverla mountain (Ukrainian: Говерла, Hoverla; Hungarian: Hóvár; Romanian: Hovârla; Goverla, Czech and Slovak: Hoverla, Polish: Howerla, Russian: Говерла ) which is 2,061 m, and the highest mountain in Ukraine and part of the Carpathian Mountains.

Being so happy about what they had achieved, Chinedu decided to leave a mark by tearing his shirt which had Nigerian 48th Independence inscribed on it to show tourists from around the world that Nigerians were there. Hoverla mountain is one of the most visited spots in the  Carpathian Mountains system by tourists around the world.

Selena Gomez Tattoos Justin Bieber’s Name on Her Wrist

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber are now one of the top celebrity couples to watch since they brought their relationship to the public light. Now it seems like Selena may have upped their relationship a notch by etching Justin's name on her wrist.

At her performance at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas on Saturday, Selena had what looked like a tattoo of Justin's name on her wrist in black ink. A small heart was underneath.

MONALISA CHINDA DONATES TO PATRICK SPEECH AND LANGUAGE CENTRE.

Screen diva Monalisa Chinda recently added another year and decided to spend the day with the children of Patrick Speech & Language Centre, Ikeja. 

 Patrick Speech & Languages School is a special school that caters to children with developmental disabilities such as Autism, Asperger syndrome and other neurological disorders. The actress' visit was to bring awareness to the little known condition facing many families in Nigeria.

 In a chat with the Administrator of the school, Mrs Dotun Akande, she said autism is a 'faceless condition' because the child looks normal but exhibits certain behavioural signs. She explains that autism is a developmental disability which causes those with it to have difficulty with communicating with others, socializing as well as sensory input. After being taken on a tour round the school to see the facilities available, Mrs Akande explained what the learning aids were for and described what it was like attending to children with special needs.

Many present had a deep level of respect for the work being done by the teachers and the carers. Monalisa who was very touched, stressed that indeed that Nigerians needed to be sensititized to the needs of others especially special children in our midst. She later donated several provisions, food stuffs, toiletries etc to the Centre much to the delight of the staff present.
