Red Carpet Report • The 2012 Costume Designers Guild Awards

On Tuesday, costume design in film and TV was recognized and celebrated during the 14th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards in Beverly Hills, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Hostess Jane Lynch wore a very flattering gown on the red carpet. The actress opted for a red halter gown by David Meister with a fitted wrap-like bodice and a flowing skirt. Jane paired her gown with strappy sandals and a stack of bangles. Jane wore statement eye make-up, her look was completed with statement earrings.

Actress Penelope Ann Miller was back in the 80s with her floor-length gold gown with a layered wrap-skirt and giant keyhole accent by IZMAYLOVA. The keyhole uncovered a sequined under dress. Penelope styled her gown with a black clutch and gold statement earrings.

Chloe Moretz also attended the Costume Designers Guild Awards, donning Vivienne Westwood Couture. The 15-year-old walked the purple carpet in a metallic corset dress with asymmetric hem and gathered detail at the hip. The actress also debuted new pink streaks in her hair, which contrasted with the dress. She paired her dress with snakeskin sandals by Jimmy Choo. I don't feel like this dress is the one for a fifteen-year-old.

Madeleine Stowe was opted to wear the Fall/Winter 2011 halterneck gown by Monique Lhuillier. The gown featured a crisscrossing detail at the bodice, which seemed to be slipping off of her. Madeleine let her thick curls cascade down her shoulders, a look that was too heavy for the dress. She completed her look with large embellished earrings.

Amber Valletta made a very successful return to the red carpet. The supermodel looked gorgeous in a coral-hue Roland Mouret dress with pleating on the neckline and cut-out details on the back. Amber also opted for some fabulous footwear. The model wore peep-toe sandals with intricate wedges. Her hair was in a tight updo, a red lip colour with matching pedicure completed the look.

Ellie Kemper went for a eye-catching blue striped dress. The actress donned a strapless cocktail dress from Giorgio Armani's Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Ellie's folded dress was paired with satin Brian Atwood pumps and a black Swarovski clutch. Her hair was in a messy updo, with wispy bangs and loose strands. Although it seems like the dress is a little too big on her, I appreciate the effort.

Kate Becksinsale took home the Lacoste Spotlight Award and she looked beautiful. The actress walked the purple carpet in a gorgeous ice blue and grey off-the-shoulder gown by Vivienne Westwood with a draped detail on the back. The gown with corset bodice was paired with Salvatore Ferragamo platform heels and a Kotur clutch. The actress wore her hair in a braided updo, her look was finished with Bochic jewels.

Ashley Madekwe looked cute in a black skater dress by Hervé Léger by Max Azria. The Revenge-star's styling of the simple A-line dress made the look successful. Ashley teamed her dress with black suede ankle-strap platform heels and a glossy clutch. Her hair was down in soft curls.

Rooney Mara looked gorgeous in a deep plum J.Mendel Fall 2012 dress. The actress really rocked the dramatic dress with the plunging neckline. She paired her dress with nude suede T-strap platform sandals by Prada. Rooney styled her dress by wearing her hair in a lacquered style with a side-parted ponytail, the 26-year-old also went for a dark blackberry lip shade. Loving this!

Red Carpet Spot • Rooney Mara At The 27th Annual Santa Barbara Film Festival Virtuosos Award Ceremony

Rooney Mara is busy with The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo again, this time the actress attended the Virtuosos Award Tribute Ceremony as part of the 2012 Santa Barbara Film Festival, where she was honoured for her role in TGWTDT. Rooney looked gorgeous in a green, sleeveless cocktail dress from the 2012 Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall collection. When stepping outside, Rooney donned a coat that matched her dress: love! The 26-year-old teamed her ensemble with cut-out black sandals by Giambattista Valli, from the 2008 Fall/Winter collection. Rooney's hair was in a side-parted ponytail.

I love this green colour on Rooney. Yay for the pocket dress!

Report • Rooney Mara's 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' European Red Carpet Style

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, a highly anticipated movie starring Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara is about a journalist (Daniel) who is searching for missing computer hacked Lisbeth Salander (Rooney). The movie will hit theaters on January 19. Rooney showed us ensembles ranging from Louis Vuitton to Rodarte, so lets check it out.

The world premiere took place in London, at the Odeon Leicester Square at the 12th of December. The actress opted for a Givenchy Couture Fall 2011 gown with an open back and cut-out details at the waist. The embroidered gown with cold shoulders contrasted with her raven black bangs but she still looked quite angelic.

After the London premiere, Rooney opted for Roksanda Ilncic Resort 2012 in Stockholm (December 13). The actress opted for a black jumpsuit with cut-out details at the waist. I'm not loving this look at all. Especially the pants seem to be too big for the petite actress. Rooney finished off her look with her Brian Atwood pumps and a rich red lip shade.

At the New York premiere of TGWTDT at the Ziegfeld Theatre, Rooney opted for a black silk dress by Prabal Gurung. The dress with graphic inserts and completely sheer back was teamed with Mary Jane peep-toes by Louboutin. Rooney's hair was in a lacquered style, the actress added bold red lippie for a pop of colour.

On January 3, Rooney attended the Paris premiere, looking super cute. The actress donned a sleeveless Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2012 dress with a bell-shaped skirt. Rooney paired her embroidered dress with a leather belt and strappy sandals. Her bangs were parted to the sides.

Right after Paris, Rooney Mara jetted off to Madrid, Spain. For the photocall the actress donned a military wool jacket with a flared waist from the Givenchy Pre-Fall 2011 collection. The tri-coloured jacket was paired with a loose black skirt, tights and ankle-strap heels by Louis Vuitton. For the premiere, Rooney opted for a beautiful silk chiffon gown from the Rodarte Fall 2011 collection. Rooney looked very statuesque in the dotted halter gown, which was detailed with a bow-accent. Rooney's hair was in a lacquered locks and she kept her make-up very natural.

In Berlin, Rooney attended the photocall in a Miu Miu Spring 2012 ensemble. The look included a grey cropped top with a black flared skirt, teamed with black strappy sandals by Miu Miu. Although this look is fresh, and Rooney has the body to pull it off, I don't know about this one. The premiere look on the other hand, I loved. The actress wore a gorgeous Michael Kors Pre-Fall 2012 gown with a rise and fall hemline and cut-out details. Her gown was teamed with Nicholas Kirkwood peep-toes, her hair was pulled back in a hairband.

After Germany, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo was taken to Rome. Rooney attended the photocall in a Dion Lee Fall 2012 leather dress with cut-out details. The actress teamed her dress with grey suede platform peep-toes by Pierre Hardy. At the premiere, Rooney wore some colour. The actress donned a beautiful red gown with short sleeves from the Valentino Spring 2012 collection. I love the red with Rooney's skin!

Which of Rooney's European look do you like most? I loved the Parisian Louis Vuitton look and the gorgeous Michael Kors dress in Germany.

Red Carpet Report • The 2012 AFI Awards

AFI is the American Film Institute, the AFI Awards honour the moving image and watch the quality of films. On Friday afternoon, the AFI Awards were held in Beverly Hills. A few of the nominees: Bridesmaids, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Moneyball, War Horse, The Help and Midnight in Paris

Jessica Chastain walked the red carpet wearing a knee-length dress with a black top and a white skirt with black pocket details from the Andrew Gn Resort 2012 collection. The red-haired actress paired her dress with Louboutin sling-back heels and onyx earrings. Her hair was up in a ponytail with side swept locks.

Homeland-actress Claire Danes donned a Pre-Fall Donna Karan dress with a flared skirt and a plunging neckline. The actress accessorized with a navy belt, which matched her blue suede heels and blue earrings by Pomellato. A sleek hairstyle finished her look.

Shailene Woodley looked cute in a girly cream Honor Spring 2012 dress. The lace dress with scalloped hems was paired with two-toned Mary Jane heels by Stella McCartney. Shailene kept her hair up in a ponytail. Although I love the dress, the black shoes are too heavy for the look.

Rooney Mara donned a bi-coloured beige and black fringe-detailed top with a black shirt and a leather belt, all by Lanvin. The actress paired her black peep-toes by Brian Atwood. Rooney didn't accessorize but did wear dark eye make-up, which contrasted with her light eyes.

Young actress Chloe Moretz wore a yellow and black printed shirt with a pleated skirt, both by Versus from the Spring 2012 collection. Chloe opted for black tights with the summery look and added black Versus heels to finish off her ensemble. Her hair was pulled back with a few loose locks.
