Review • OPI Just Spotted The Lizard

It has been a long time ago since I posted a manicure but sometimes I'm just too busy to take pictures. Still, here is a new review! This week I'm wearing Just Spotted The Lizard from the OPI Spider-Man collection! I bought it a few weeks ago and also wore it to prom, perfectly complementing my outfit, the same outfit that Olivia Palermo wore in NYC!

This translucent yellow, green and gold lacquer is one of the six shades in the Spider-Man collection, it has the same effect as Not Like The Movies and Go On Green!: it changes colour in different lighting.

I love this rich hue and how it adapts to each outfit I wear. Thereby, it is super easy to apply! It dries within minutes, especially when you use Quick Dry drops! From my previous experience I know that this polish doesn't chip quickly, but to not take chances, I use Chip Skip! This way, it easily stays on for a week.

What do you think of this shade?

Review • OPI Silver Shattered Stranger Tides

Hi everyone! The past few weeks I've worn shades that I've already shown you but this week I tried something new. At the moment, I'm wearing OPI Stranger Tides, with Silver Shatter on top of it. After I applied the shatter on the pale green colour and shatter, my nails made me think of a snake, although this isn't very clear in the pictures.

I first applied ChipSkip, then a matte base coat. Afterwards, I used two layers of Stranger Tides and one thin layer of Silver Shatter. If you use thick layers of shatter, the colour you used underneath won't be clearly visible anymore. To make my nails shine, I used a sparkly top coat. I love the colour for this weather, rainy with sunny periods; it fits both! My experience with Stranger Tides and most of the OPI lacquers is that it stays on perfectly for one week (especially with ChipSkip) and Shatter mostly makes your manicure last even longer!

What do you think of this combination?

Review • OPI Fresh Frog Of Bel Air

Hi guys! It has been such a lovely week for me, due to the suuuuunshiiiine! Yes, it's unbelievable but the sun was there the whole week here in the Netherlands! That being said, I wanted to wear a summery and fun lacquer this week and that's why I opted for OPI's Fresh Frog Of Bel Air (Muppet Collection), with Cuckoo For This Color underneath. This combination made both hues look very special.

Since Fresh Frog Of Bel Air is like a top coat, translucent, I always try to find fun new combinations for colours to wear underneath the shimmery glitter. I've enjoyed staring at my manicure the whole week, and in the sun the glitters were even more beautiful!

For me, this combination is a success! What shall I try next week? Kiss Me On My Tulips with Gettin' Miss Piggy With It?

Review • OPI Go On Green!

Last weekend I was in Brussels for a weekend full of shopping. There I saw this little gem that I have never seen before, sparkling from an OPI-stand. The shade was once featured in the OPI Brights collection, which means this is a fairly old shade, but I had never seen it before! This non-stop shade that's got the green light is a perfect spring/summer colour. On my nails the polish is some sort of frosty blue, but in the (sun)light it turns into a jewel-like green.

The lacquer has a very thin formula, so for a good coverage you need three layers. The nail polish is now on my nails for at least six days without chipping and I even forgot to apply my ChipSkip underneath the basecoat!

What do you think?

Review • OPI Save Me

This week I'm wearing another colour from the OPI Nicki Minaj collection: Save Me, a silver rainbow glitter. Because the formula is see-through when not applying the lacquer super thick, I decided to wear a flashy colour underneath it for a more fun effect. I went for Yoga-ta Get This Blue! as a basecoat. It actually worked out quite funny I think. Save Me dries within 1 minute. The first picture is inside, under artificial lights and the other one is in outside daylight.

Save Me truly looks like a confetti rainbow on your nails, so I'm glad I added this one to my collection! What do you think?

Review • OPI Designer... De Better!

I have worn Designer... De Better! so many times already, but every time I forgot to post it. This week I'm wearing this gorgeous hue from the OPI Muppet Holiday collection again and I still love it. It doesn't chip for at least a week in combination with OPI ChipSkip and if it does, you almost don't see it because of the colour with your nails. Designer... De Better! is a beautiful silver foil with traces of pink and bronze in there as well. It has sort of the same texture as Warm & Fozzie

Personally, I love it!
What hue are you wearing this week?

Review • OPI Metallic 4 Life

This week I'm wearing Metallic 4 Life by OPI, from the Nicki Minaj collection. I only bought this shade from the collection, because I don't like the other vibrant colours with my skintone. This shade is a dark grey one with silver glitters in it but for it to cover, you need two layers. So that's what I did and now it's a glittery black. It dries super quick and stays on just fine, for around a week. That's how long I wear my shades without them chipping.

I do have to say, that this polish has the same texture as Rainbow Connection and Gettin' Miss Piggy With It and it takes me hours to get it off my nails with the glitters.

I love how this lacquer glams up each outfit you wear! It also makes me think of Starry Sky, although this one has much more glitters in it.

Do you like it?

Review • OPI Gettin' Miss Piggy With It

This week I'm wearing OPI's Gettin' Miss Piggy With It from the Muppet Holiday collection! Just like Rainbow Connection, this nail polish is a see through polish with a few glitters in it. Because of that, I wore a red shade underneath it.

This shade was per-fect for my weekend, since I had a Christmas Cocktail Party on Saturday, and it is very christmas-sy! The lacquer stays on just fine but it's not very wearable in my daily life and with my clothes.

So, what do you think?

Review • OPI Rainbow Connection

This week I'm wearing a Muppet Holiday hue by OPI: Rainbow Connection. It's a gorgeous multi-coloured glitter polish. Rainbow Connection is a somewhat see through laquer because the glitters are kept together by a see through formula. Because of this, I'm wearing OPI's Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous (a silver shade) underneath it, so you won't see my nails.

It's a pity the sun wasn't shining while I took the pictures because seeing the glitters in the sunlight is sensational! I do have to say, the nail polish is better in real life than in the pics.

So what do you think? I have three Muppet Collection colours but I still like Warm & Fozzie better!

Review • OPI Warm & Fozzie

Last week, I've been to Edinburgh and London to enjoy my autumn holidays. I had a wonderful time and since I'm an OPI addict, of course I've browsed all stores possible for OPI's Thanksgiving Muppets collection and... I found it! I eventually found OPI heaven in Selfridges (a warehouse) which had the largest OPI stock I've ever seen!

I bought four Muppet collection colours: Warm & Fozzie, Rainbow Connection, Gettin' Miss Piggy With It and Fresh Frog of Bel Air. Warm & Fozzie is a beautiful bronze sparkly colour, one that I'll wear regularly. The others are more Christmas-y and for parties.

I absolutely can't take my eyes off my nails anymore since I put this one on my fingertips: Warm & Fozzie seems like a bronze polish but in it you can also find gold, pink and sort of green glitters in it. I love it! It is a smooth and easy laquer and dries quickly.

For this pic I've applied two coats but maybe three coats would have been prettier.
What do you think? My other Muppet reviews will follow soon!

Review • OPI Uh-Oh Roll Down The Window

Last week, I wore a new OPI colour from OPI's Fall 2011 collection The Touring America Collection. I'm absolutely in love Uh-Oh Roll Down The Window and it's so different from the promotional pics I showed you in My New OPI Hues.

I used two layers and it stayed on beautifully for 5 days. The colour looks gorgeous with almost all of my clothes so this is definitely one of my new faves!

What do you think?

Review • OPI Cuckoo For This Color

This week I wore a beautiful deep green/blue OPI nail polish: Cuckoo For This Color, from the 2010 Swiss collection. I bought it in Bruxelles some time ago, as you can see here.

Just like all OPI polishes, with this texture you can polish your nails quick and neat. I wore this lacquer for one week, it chipped on the sixth day so I'm super satisfied! I love the colour, since it goes with (almost) everything and lookes chic. A beautiful colour for winter and summer!

Nail News • My New OPI Hues

Hi all!

Since yesterday, OPI's Touring America Collection is available in the Netherlands so of course I had to go take a look! From OPI's pictures I decided I would go for My Address Is Hollywood and Road House Blues. But when I got to the store I absolutely loved Uh-Oh Roll Down The Window! It's so different from what I expected! The brighter hues all had a spark in it which really didn't look good with my skin, so I didn't buy My Address Is Hollywood.

Eventually I got home with Uh-Oh Roll Down The Window, Road House Blues and Get In The Expresso Lane.

Another unexpected twist: when I was ready to pay, my attention was caught by a shiny gold hue; a gold shatter, also by OPI! It's beautiful (better than the image) and I didn't even know it exists! Can't wait to show and review!

Review • Pieces Starry Sky

Hi guys!

This week I wore a black glittery polish by Pieces, named Starry Sky. I bought it in sale, it was only €1,50!

I used two layers, but if you apply only one it is a transparent look, that also looked quite cool! Because Pieces nailpolish isn't expensive I didn't expect it to last very long and eventually it stayed on chiplessly for two days.

Do you guys like this? I just don't know about black.

Review • OPI My Private Jet

Hi guys! I'm back. I'll post my Portugal experiences as soon as possible!

On vacation, I always give my nails a rest so I only polish them with vitamin oils. But when I got back I went straight back to wearing nail laquer!

This time, I went for one of my favourite OPI shades: My Private Jet. It's a shiny dark-ish brown shade and when you let the sun shine on it, the glitters turn into sort of a rainbow.

I applied two layers and it still looks beautiful (since Monday).

What do you think?

Review • OPI Not Like The Movies

This week I wore a beautiful shade form Katy Perry's OPI collection: Not Like The Movies. The shade changes colour at every movement you make and in the sun: purple, pink, green, gold! This is definitely one of my most favourite shades. When applying this one, be careful to put on two very thin layers, that gives the best effect!

This polish doesn't chip because you wear a very thin layer and I wore it for one week. Love!

Review • Hema #83 'Baby Blue'

This weekend I tried a baby blue nail polish (€2,50) which I bought at the Hema some time ago (Hema is a Dutch warehouse). I tried it and I love the baby blue trend, but I think this shade makes me look a little cheap. I always have a tan and I think the contrast looks just plain cheap. What do you think?

So I wore the polish for two days and removed it. I did it because I don't like the colour on me but also because it chipped already. With that comes that I'm used to OPI laquer and its quality so I didn't like the structure of the nail polish. Of course I couldn't expect OPI quality for the money I paid, because the Hema polish is five times as cheap ;)

What do you think?

Review • OPI's Silver Shattered Yoga-Ta Get This Blue!

Hi! How are you today?

I've been wearing OPI's Yoga-Ta Get This Blue for a few days to make this deep, dark blue my fashion mantra, and I used Silver Shatter as a topcoat.

First, I used two layers to get a shiny look. It dried quickly.

Afterwards, I applied Silver Shatter which looked like this. Actually, I shouldn't have used two layers of the blue laquer because the Shatter covered most of the colour (that's a pity, right?).

I wouldn't go for this look again because I think the blue looks like black this way. After a few days of wearing the polish, the Shatter got a little worse. I liked that because now you could see more blue. I didn't like how fast the polish chipped. I don't know what it is, but this blue nail polish always chips the day after which is too quick for my liking!

What do you think? Not my faourite look... Go for a brighter colour underneath the Shatter next time?

Review • OPI Stranger Tides

Remember I told you I bought the Stranger Tides shade from the Pirates Collection?
Well, I'm wearing it at the moment, to explore the uncharted sea of sage! I'm in love with this shade because it looks good with all my clothes. Stranger Tides is a milky dusty green colour and looks great with my skintone!

The lacquer has the same structure as we're used to when using OPI. I used two coats and got this result. When using two coats, the lacquer stays somewhat transparent and leaves streaks. The lacquer doesn't chip quickly and lasts for six days.

Are you in love? I am!

Review • OPI Don't Mess With OPI

Some time ago I bought this 'lean, mean, kick-grass forest green' OPI-shade: Don't Mess With OPI. I think it's a great colour and I especially love to wear it with another bright colour and a tanned skin.

Don't Mess With OPI is a shade in one of OPI's latest collections, The Texas Collection.
OPI describes the collection as a modern American style and a fresh and refreshing facet to an effortlessly chic and unique style season. The Texas Collection includes six shades with a sorbet-like finsih and six shades with a cream-like finish. My shade has a cream-like finish.

When applying OPI you can trust on at least five days of chipless wearing and in this case I counted only three days of chipless wearing. I don't know what it is with this shade, but it definitely chips faster than other OPI-shades.
